About IDLE IRiS

Melissa Ryan AKA IDLE IRiS, is a singer/songwriter/guitarist and producer from Manchester, UK.
Inspired by the stolen records of her brother (Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Placebo) she picked up guitar at 8 years old, igniting a lifelong passion of composing and writing.
Ryan first entered the music industry back in 2013, with The Cassettez, a short flirtation with touring and performing, travelling the country playing dive bars to festivals.
During this time, she met her Producer and collaborator Mark McMurtrie, quickly bonding over a passion for David Lynch films, St Vincent, and black coffee.
After years of anticipation, Ryan's solo project IDLE IRiS is finally here, and fans and critics alike couldn’t be more excited. IDLE IRiS is available for bookings, guest appearances and interviews. Feel free to get in touch to learn more.
